Give Kids a Smile // May 2025
As I look back on closing out this year, one of my favorite days spent in the office was Give Kids A Smile!
This May, we closed our office to host Give Kids a Smile day, which provides free dental care to undeserved children in our community. Give Kids a Smile is a national event organized by American Dental Association, and here’s the description of the program from American Dental Association Foundation website:
The Give Kids A Smile® (GKAS) program, launched nationally in 2003, provides underserved children with free oral health care. Each year approximately 6,500 dentists and 30,000 dental team members volunteer at local GKAS events to provide free oral health education, screenings, preventive and restorative treatment to over 300,000 children.
From what I could see, this involved a lot of logistics, which Dr. Bernie Logan organized and spearheaded (as she does every year). Our office has participated in this every May for more than ten years, and I was happy to continue the tradition this year! We had multiple dentists, hygienists, and assistants in the area to spend their day providing FREE dental care and giving back to the community.
From our Timeless Smiles office, Dr. Cohen, myself, our EFDA Tina, and our hygienists Anna and Lynne showed up to provide free dental care to the adorable (and brave!) children. It definitely helped to have people who knew the quirky nuisances of our office and to help those unfamiliar with where everything was :)

At the end of the day, as Dr. Logan excitedly let us know, we provided FREE dental care for 16 kids, with $7755 worth of dental care and education. Our office was featured in the Pennsylvania Dental Journal this fall, so take a peak below, if you’d like!
